Political and Legislative Director
Marvin is the Political and Legislative Director of the Transport Workers Union Local 100. Currently, he sits on the Advisory Board of the Murphy Instiute for Worker and Labor Studies at (CUNY) and the Solidarity Board of Community Voices Heard (CVH). He served on the TWU Local 100 Executive Board from 2003 to 2006, and in 2007 was awarded Black Heritage Man of the Year for Labor/community outreach. In 2008, Marvin founded Take Back Our Union (TBOU), which swept the current leadership into power at TWU Local 100. In 2011, he wrote the resolution which would make TWU Local 100 the first union to come out in support of Occupy Wall Street (OWS). In 2012, he received the NAACP "father of the year award" for civic work and community engagement. And most recently, he founded Transit Forward, the only coalition of Transit Riders and Workers dedicated to improving public mass transit in the state of New York.
